By now, most companies understand that state authorized medical cannabis can create a myriad of questions and issues in the workplace, affecting drug testing, adverse employment determinations and safety, to name a few. As more states jump into the cannabis fray, with many authorizing both adult-use and medical use, companies need to stay on top of new state statutes, as some require protective language regarding employees or prohibit pre-employment drug testing for cannabis.
