USTR nominee should secure trade deals that promote growth

The Retail Industry Leaders Association released the following statement ahead of Jamieson Greer’s appearance before the Senate Finance Committee:

“As the Senate Finance Committee considers Jamieson Greer’s nomination to be the U.S. Trade Representative, leading retailers look forward to hearing more about his plans to expand upon the success of the USMCA trade agreement reached during President Trump’s first term,” said Blake Harden, RILA’s Vice President, International Trade.

“Retailers are eager to see Mr. Greer champion trade policies that protect our national interests and advance American competitiveness. The USMCA is a great example of how this can be done, and retailers are ready to work with the administration on advancing trade policies that protect America’s national security and competitive edge while improving the affordability of household goods for American families who have struggled with high inflation for too long.”
