Labor Secretary Should Strengthen Retail Workforce

Evan Armstrong, vice president of workforce policy at the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) issued the following statement about President Trump’s nomination of Lori Chavez-DeRemer as the next Secretary of Labor:

“As the voice for leading retailers in Washington, we welcome the opportunity to work with the Honorable Chavez-DeRemer as the next Secretary of the Department of Labor.

“RILA looks forward to partnering with all stakeholders to ensure outdated and burdensome regulations are removed and policies are developed that bolster the building of a 21st Century Retail workforce that is innovative, dynamic and skilled for all American workers.

“RILA believes in advancing solutions that will allow retailers to compete for talent and serve their customers well. We will continue this mission in collaboration with the Trump administration and nominee Chavez-DeRemer.”
