“Americans are counting on President Trump to help make life more affordable, and families want financial certainty to plan their budgets after years of rising prices. As Americans start thinking of backyard cookouts, do-it-yourself projects, and sprucing up kids’ summer wardrobes, they are nervous about the impact tariffs will have on their pocketbooks,” said Michael Hanson, RILA’s Senior Executive Vice President, Public Affairs.
“Families want the Trump administration to focus its mandate on policies that lower costs and already have a proven track record to unlock investment and growth, extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and enacting smart trade agreements like USMCA. Retailers strongly urge the President to double down on the policies from his first term that are working and forgo policies that create uncertainty for American businesses and families.”
