- Review of Actions Taken in the Section 301...
The section 301 tariffs on Chinese imports have caused disproportionate economic harm to American businesses, consumers, and workers – and consequently, the U.S. economy. While Americans continue to pay the tariffs, China’s behavior has not changed. In short, the tariffs have been ineffective – especially tariffs on consumer goods, which have no nexus to the underlying 301 report or to China’s technology ambitions. We urge the Administration to abandon this unsuccessful policy by rolling back the tariffs and pursuing a new and more effective strategy.
