- Comments to State Department on Combating...
In November 2022, the State Department announced that it was seeking comments on options for combating international deforestation associated with commodities grown on deforested land. The potential options are far-reaching, including an import ban or limitation on specific commodities sourced from deforested land (whether the deforestation was legal or illegal). Commodities include cattle, oil palm, soy, cocoa, coffee, wood fiber, and rubber.
